Today we're in Nova Scotia. On our way to Cape Breton Island, Artemis bought herself a pair of locally-knitted woolen slippers in case she gets "cold feet". For lunch we had something you won't be able to find west of the Maritimes - a "McLobster" sandwich at McDonalds! We wound our way along the Ceiladh Trail of the island and then followed the entire Cabot Trail through Cape Breton Highlands National Park. It more than owned up to it's world renowned standard. We took a hike with the dogs to a waterfall and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of nature, the more since the day had started dreary but had turned into a cloudless expanse of blue. Oddly enough, by 6pm a thick fog rolled in suddenly from the ocean and visibility went down to nil for the rest of the drive.
