After a very cold start from Thunder Bay we drove along the north coast of Lake Superior but because of high wind and blowing snow all day we hardly got a glimpse of our first "great lake". For lunch, to warm our innards, we cracked open a can of Habitant pea soup and had hot fried SPAM sandwiches (seriously). Then we stopped on a lookout near where Terry Fox abandoned his run. Thank God, before nightfall we found a "Good SAM" park with heated washrooms and hot showers. The sides of the camper van were caked in ice.
